This movement is indelible.  We did our duty, although our elected officials failed to do theirs.

We bore witness to the Constitution, and history will bear witness to us.

We are citizens, not seasoned organizers, who felt that inaction was not an option.  We organized a three-day demonstration in record time, and gathered peacefully in the Nation’s Capital to resist the certification of the election as a moral necessity.  We came from so many corners of this republic to stand and march in the frigid cold for long hours.  We lobbied in the halls of Congress, and these lawmakers can never credibly claim that they did not hear us.  Countless supporters who could not be with us in person joined our calls to action, and generously donated their time and money.

Because of this sacrifice, history will bear witness to our defense of democracy, as it has to the seeds of powerful movements in our nation’s past.  Our solidarity and testimony is a powerful indictment.

It was an enormous honor to have locked arms with you.
